If you haven’t visited Chautauqua park during your visit to Boulder, it’s one of the most beautiful locations for hiking, walking, picnicing, or photographing! I love introducing my clients to this spot, but I’d love to take photos for you here whether you’re visiting for the first time, or have been enjoying Chautauqua for years! Your whole family will enjoy beautiful views of the flatirons and the foothills.
Best Photography Locations in Boulder - Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat
If you prefer a less frequented location, this might be the location for you! This trail, which runs beside Boulder Creek, is surrounded by gorgeous cottonwood trees, tall grasses, and open fields. The Flatirons are visible in the distance with a glimpse of the taller peaks beyond.
Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat feels like a taste of home for this Texas gal! The trails wind through the Boulder wetlands and remind me of my days growing up on the gulf coast, but with mountain views! Maybe that’s why this spot feels like home to me.
Wonderland Lake
This lovely spot offers up fantastic views of the foothills, including the Flatirons in the distance. It’s the perfect spot for families with kiddos that need to run and play!
NCAR Trail Head
This location boasts views of The Flatirons, Bear Mountain, and Devil’s Thumb. It’s a great location for anyone who wants a lot of variety in a short distance, however might not be ideal for families with young kids.
Lost Gulch Overlook
Just 20 minutes from downtown Boulder, Lost Gulch Overlook is one of the most stunning views in Boulder County! Facing West toward the mountains, this spot offers a view of Longs Peak in the distance. This would be an amazing location for your engagement session, or even an elopement!
